About the Centre for Development of Entrepreneurs
Mission Statement

The Centre for the Development of Entrepreneurs is in the business of undertaking entrepreneurship research, teaching, and industry collaboration activities that support
- business creation and growth
- technology transfer
- commercialisation
- innovation capability, and
- investment readiness.
Centre Activities
The Centre is engaged in three types of activities: research, teaching, and community outreach:
Research
The Centre has a diverse research program focusing on the individual, the firm, and the region. It undertakes research grounded in theory with practical application. The sustainability of its research program is facilitated through
- Centre team member research interests
- A PhD Program in innovation, entrepreneurship, and private equity, and
- Collaboration with scholars from other institutions.
Research projects currently exist in the following areas: entrepreneurial orientation; opportunity recognition; private equity; innovation capability; Indigenous entrepreneurship; cultural differences; creativity; values; and entrepreneurial attitudes.
Teaching
The Centre is involved in developing and delivering a range of "cutting edge" and compelling award courses and degree programs across the University. These include the following:
- Entrepreneurial Enterprises (a business undergraduate elective BUGE) offered to students across the University
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship (an MBA elective)
- MBA (Entrepreneurship) an MBA entrepreneurship major
- Master of Management (Innovation and Entrepreneurship)

Industry collaboration
An essential role of the Centre is to convey relevant practical knowledge to the community. In this regard, it is involved in the following series of workshops, seminars, lecture series, and enterprise development programs:
- Business Innovation Centre Program
- Innovation Capability Program - for SMEs
- Investment Ready Program - for SMEs and novice investors
Location
The Centre is based at UniSAs City West campus.
