How do I apply for a deferred/special consideration exam?

Return to: Campus Central FAQ Home > Exams

If you did not attend the exam

If you are unable to attend the final examination due to unexpected and extenuating circumstances such as medical illness, you should apply for a deferred examination.

If you attended the exam

If you did attend the exam and believe that your performance was affected by illness through an accident and/or other special circumstances, you can apply for special consideration. The approval for special consideration is not automatic and must be authorised by the relevant Course Coordinator. If your application has been successful, you may be offered to sit another exam, assessment or other consideration as decided by the Course Coordinator.

How do I apply

It is very important to apply for the correct type of secondary assessment to ensure the application is not denied on the grounds of ineligibility.

Both the deferred and special consideration options have application forms that must be lodged at Campus Central no later than five working days after the examination date. Please see the form for more details on eligibility requirements.

Please read all of the information on the first page of these forms to ensure you understand what you need to do to be eligible for a deferred examination or special consideration and ensure that all fields are completed and relevant signatures obtained.

Details of when secondary assessment exams will be held can be found on the exams website
