Pridham Hall

The heart of our City West campus.

In 2014 the University embarked on a project that will transform on-campus life and provide purpose-built facilities for students to celebrate University life, milestones and achievements. Pridham Hall will be a one-stop shop for students and the local community, featuring a sports complex, swimming pool and facilities for graduations and corporate and cultural events.

Sitting alongside UniSA’s Jeffrey Smart Building and near a new student accommodation block on Hindley Street, Pridham Hall's architecturally expressive design will continue to transform Adelaide’s West End and enhance the vibrancy of the City West campus.  The facility will be a public drawcard and attract the South Australian Health and Biomedical Precinct’s growing population.

Construction will start in Hindley Street in late 2015 and Pridham Hall is scheduled to be complete early 2018. For more information on UniSA's campus projects read the Enterprising Spaces: Campus Projects 2015 - 2018 brochure.

Pridham Hall Virtual Reality app

Experience the UnisA Pridham Hall in virtual reality before it has been built.

A virtual reality app has been developed by a team of staff and students from UniSA’s School of Information Technology and Mathematical Sciences, using new and exciting virtual reality technology.

The app allows you to see the inside of the building in 3D using just your smartphone. For the full virtual reality experience, you can also place your phone in a virtual reality headset, where you will be engulfed into the building.

This is your opportunity to take a tour of the foyer, pool and the hall, set up for graduation ceremonies.

To download the Pridham Hall App please search for ‘UniSA Great Hall’ in either Google Play (Andriod) or the App Store (iPhone).

Alternatively, please click on the direct links:

If you have a virtual reality headset select ‘Virtual Reality Tour’ and place your phone in your headset.  If you don’t have a virtual reality headset select ‘mobile virtual tour’.

Become a permanent part of the new heart of UniSA

As part of our 25th birthday appeal, alumni and friends will have the opportunity to embed themselves in the DNA of our Pridham Hall. Your donation will enable you to have your name and three words to live by permanently recorded in Pridham Hall at the heart of the campus.

Names of donors will be presented artistically and inspirationally and will form an intrinsic part of the architectural design by award-winning architectural firm Snøhetta, who are working with JamFactory and local design firm JP Design Studio. For further details or to secure your space, visit the Pridham Hall donation webpage.

Project team:

To bring the unique building design together to achieve something that meets the needs of our staff and students, while being architecturally inspiring, we needed an exceptional project team.

Pridham Hall project team is being led by South Australian firm JPE Design Studio together with Norwegian architecture firm, Snøhetta, and SA’s JamFactory. Snøhetta was recently ranked sixth in UK’s Building Design Weekly’s top 100 architecture firms of 2015 list.

The project team also include:

  • Structural and Civil Engineers : Aurecon
  • Services Engineers : WSP / Parsons Brinkerhoff
  • Cost Manager : Rider Levett Bucknall
  • Managing Contractor : Mossop Construction and Interiors

This building will focus on fulfilling the University and local community’s needs. Therefore the project team have begun the building process by consulting with numerous internal and external stakeholders including staff and students.

Two members of the team are final year UniSA Master of Architecture students Clare Randle and Todd Read. As part of their final year subject they are both completing an internship with JPE Design Studio. For Clare, working on the Pridham Hall project is exciting because it will enhance student life.

"I am really enjoying working on the UniSA Pridham Hall project, as it demonstrates the potential for good design to provide more than the functional requirements of a building; it will be great to see how the City West campus will evolve in the coming years to enhance the student experience."
