About iCAHE

iCAHE provides researchers, clinicians, teachers, patients and associated organisations with a forum for undertaking and disseminating evidence-based research in allied health locally, nationally and internationally.

In mid-2002 the International Centre for Allied Health Evidence (iCAHE) was established, initially encompassing the allied health disciplines of physiotherapy, podiatry, occupational therapy and medical radiation. In October 2003, the iCAHE directors also invited complementary and alternative therapies to join with CAHE and these disciplines now operate independently or collegiately (as appropriate) within the centre.

iCAHE is staffed by academics and clinicians with a strong background and interest in evidence-based research and practice and are recognised nationally and internationally for their clinical expertise, published research, and their commitment to identifying and implementing the very best allied health care for patients.

The Centre also offers consultancy services for industry, consumer groups, researchers, clinicians, patients and teachers. It conducts workshops on aspects of evidence-based practice, produces systematic reviews of the literature, develops information sheets of recommendations for wide dissemination, evaluates the uptake and clinical utility of these information sheets, and monitors change in outcomes as a result of taking an evidence-based practice approach.

This website outlines the activities, initiatives and objectives of CAHE and is updated regularly to keep you informed about our research and developments.
