CAHE Clearing House for Guidelines
CAHE's clearing house for developed and published Clinical Guidelines that include or focus on Allied Health
In a new initiative designed to promote and encourage evidence-based
practice for allied health (AH) professionals, CAHE is offering direct
access point for high quality, current Allied Health Clinical Guidelines
relevant to various AH disciplines.
The importance of evidence-based practice in all areas of health care has led to the development of a growing number of Clinical Guideline documents related to specific fields of clinical practice. Clinical Guidelines pull together the best current evidence, to assist in the provision of standardised care and provide benchmarks for best-practice. Clinical Guideline documents usually contain numerous evidence-based recommendations which relate to specific elements of care for a particular clinical condition, and may apply to a number of allied health disciplines.
The quality of Clinical Guidelines is dependant on their currency and the rigor with which they have been developed. High quality guidelines are themselves developed using evidence-based methodologies such as those recommended by the National Health & Medical Research Council (NHMRC).
CAHE is committed to providing direct access to high quality Clinical Guidelines through this AH Guideline Access page, with the number of Clinical Guideline links growing over time. If you have a relevant allied health clinical guideline that you would like to see included in this list please contact CAHE's Julie Luker or Yamini Deenadayalan.
The Clinical Guidelines currently accessible through this site can be viewed in CAHE's AH Clinical Guidelines table below.
The AH Clinical Guidelines table provides links to:
- Clinical Guideline Producers: detailing the country of origin and the organisation the produced the Clinical Guideline
- Clinical Guideline Links: the Links section directs you to the Clinical Guideline and any Supporting Evidence for recommendations
