- Professor Garry Carnegie has now returned to the
University of Ballarat after a very full 3 days as a
Research Performance Panel Visitor in August. Professor
Carnegie is a highly respected academic and had an open
and engaging approach to his first RPP visit, including
a series of successful meetings with staff and students.
- Staff who had meetings with Garry have been
extremely pleased with his suggestions and advice. They
include Professor Roger Burritt, Associate Professor
Brenton Fiedler, Dr Elvia Shauki, Dr Ratnam Alagiah, Dr
Paul Shum, Susan Briggs and Gerard Stone.
- Research students were also able to benefit from the
wealth of Garry’s experience. Masters student Tuyet Dam
Thi, and PhD candidates Dale Blackmore and Gerard Stone
all enjoyed Garry’s dialogue encouraging their thinking
about scholastic matters associated with research.
- Garry presented to a full-room at Thursday’s
Visiting Scholar Seminar on 20 August 2009, discussing
his paper ‘Accounting chaotic margins: financial
reporting of the library collections of Australia's
public universities, 2002-2006’ (with Brian West,
University of Ballarat) (198KB).
- We look forward to welcoming back RPP Member
Professor Carnegie for his next visit in December.
