Assessment practice - presented by Dr Chris Rust, Oxford Brookes University, UK Sponsored by the Australian Business Deans Council The influence of assessment and feedback on student
learning is widely acknowledged in the literature. Student feedback
consistently highlights the need for improvement in this area. This workshop will be an extended, interactive version of
the similarly titled presentation made at the
ATN
Assessment Forum in Melbourne (18th November). It will start by
providing a theoretical model underpinning the importance of student
engagement with assessment, and will then proceed to consider case
study examples of how this model may be applied in practice. Participants will be encouraged throughout the workshop to
consider the potential to modify their own assessment practices, and
the possibility of adopting similar approaches in their courses. Places are limited so please register ASAP!
