Each year the University collects data on all research publications produced by staff and candidates. The Publications component is intended as a broad indicator only and is not a comprehensive count of all quality research output. The University of South Australia recognises this limitation and collects data on a range of publication categories that are not included in the Higher Education Research Data Collection (HERDC). This additional data is also used in the allocation of funding for Supported Researchers and Divisional Research Performance Funds.
Research Services coordinates the Publications component of the HERDC via Publication Coordinators who have been nominated by each School and Institute. Publication Coordinators are responsible for collecting the information, assisting and advising staff on classification issues and forwarding the collected information to Research Services.
Further information is available from Research Services, including publications guidelines, forms etc.
