Welcome from the Pro Vice Chancellor
The
Division of Business is part of the University of South Australia (UniSA),
the youngest and most modern of South Australia’s three universities.
The Division is a large business school that offers a full range of programs, from undergraduate degrees to doctoral study, covering most business and management disciplines. It has 300 staff and 10,500 students. About half of its students are from overseas, and more than 3,500 study outside Australia. The Division led the development of offshore programs in the University and its teaching and research benefit from the diversity of its academic and administrative staff, who come from over 20 different countries.
The Division has a successful research program, with internationally recognised groupings in marketing science/buyer behaviour, wine marketing, water law and policy, human resource management, market regulation and analysis, and tourism and leisure management. Academic staff also have substantial international and domestic reputations in accounting, governance and accountability, applied economics, ethics, organisational behaviour and international education. The Division contributes to four federally-funded Cooperative Research Centres (CRCs).
The Division’s objectives are:
- To be the leading provider of business and management education in South Australia.
- To be recognised nationally for the quality of its research, teaching and links with industry.
- To make a significant contribution to international business and management research and education, particularly in Asia.
- To build mutually beneficial long-term relationships with business, government, professional groups and the wider community.
The Division of Business was the second Australian business school to receive EQUIS accreditation. The Division is a member of the Association of Asia Pacific Business Schools.
