Revenue generation
The Business Development team provides high quality support to managers and staff.
We also identify business opportunities for the Division, Schools and Centres (eg. tender information, collaborative partnerships, networking), and work with academic and administration staff to secure contracts and research projects.
Business advise
We provide advice on University Policy, Legal, Financial and Marketing
issues, eg.:
- Budgeting
- Pricing
- Revenue and income streams
- Risk analysis and assessment
- Compliance with Intellectual Property guidelines.
Project management - Project Quality System (PQS)
The majority of business activities are processed as formal projects and are established and maintained on the University's Project Quality System (PQS) website (access is restricted to users).
We provide:
- Access to the Project Quality System (PQS) website for the establishment, assessment and approval of consultancy and research projects in accordance with Quality Assurance guidelines (currently AS9001 Quality Accreditation)
- Management reports on project development and progress.
Project managers can download and electronically complete a project
proposal form:
- PQS
Project Proposal and Budget template form (for a new Research and
Consultancy project only).
Page 1 requires project and client information while page 2 is for the budget revenue and expenditure amounts (including item codes).
The template form covers the most common project proposal information and budget data. Once downloaded, the form can be modified to cater for descriptions and item codes not included.
