Internal Program Transfer
Students who wish to transfer from their current program to any program in the Division of Business can apply by completing the Internal Transfer Between University Programs form (PDF 17.5 kb download Adobe Acrobat) and returning to Campus Central by the closing date. Students who wish to transfer into the Business Double Degree or Laws Double Degree must complete the Internal Transfer to Business Double Degree or Internal Transfer to Laws Double Degree form.
*Students wishing to transfer between different plans of the Bachelor of Management (DBMA) do not need to complete an application for internal transfer. They should advise Campus Central that they wish to change their plan and the staff there will arrange.
Students who wish to transfer must meet the entry criteria for the program as determined during SATAC offer rounds in January, except where a student wishes to transfer from a double degree to one of the single constituent degrees. In these cases, the transfer is automatically approved.
Criteria for Transfer
The following rules apply to students' eligibility to transfer into another program.
Students who have studied: -
- less than 18.0 units are assessed on entry criteria (TER, STAT, TAFE, SAIBT diploma etc);
- between 18.0 and 36.0 units inclusive must have a GPA ≥4.0, (or GPA ≥5 for Laws) or are assessed on entry criteria.
- more than 36.0 units must have a GPA ≥4.0 (or GPA ≥5 for Laws)
Transfer from Double degrees to a constituent single degree:
Transfer into the BUE constituent of these programs is automatically approved:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering), Bachelor of Management transfer into the DBMA, Bachelor of Management only.
- Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Management transfer into the DBMA, Bachelor of Management only.
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering), Bachelor of Management transfer into the DBMA, Bachelor of Management only.
- Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Systems/Electrical and Mechatronic), (Electronics and Communications), (Networking and Communications),
- Bachelor of Management transfer into the DBMA, Bachelor of Management only.
- Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Systems/Electrical and Mechatronic), (Electronics and Communications), (Networking and Communications)
- Bachelor of Management (Marketing) transfer into the DBMK, Bachelor of Management (Marketing) only.
- Bachelor of Arts (International Studies) transfer into any BUE double degree with a MBIL constituent i.e. DBIL, DBME, DBMT)
- Bachelor of Arts (Aboriginal Studies) transfer into the BUE double degree program DBDD with a DBAS as one of the constituent plans.
This also applies to DBDD Business Double Degrees, DBCB Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Applied Finance, DBLE Laws Double Degree (6.5 years), DBLD Laws Double Degree (5 years), DBME Bachelor of Management, Bachelor of Arts (International Studies), DBMT Bachelor of Management (Marketing), Bachelor of Arts (International Studies)
Transfers offshore to onshore programs
These are allowed and based on the student meeting normal entry requirements for the program being sought entry into. Students need to complete the Offshore to Onshore Transfer form.
Transfers onshore to offshore programs
Normal policy applies.
