In October, UniSA students from Indigenous Tourism participated on the Kaurna walking trail. Local Indigenous Tour operator Frank Wanganeen led the tour. Students were given an opportunity to engage with Frank as he explained the significance of local Kaurna landmarks in the City of Adelaide.
The walk is an opportunity for students to learn about Aboriginal culture and a chance for them to view an Aboriginal Tour venture in operation and interact with the Aboriginal community. The field trip was organised by lecturer Dr Freya Higgins Desbiolles who runs the Indigenous Tourism course. This is an excellent concept and opportunity for students to learn more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
