"When I first came to Uni back in 200* (let's not think that far back!) I was a terrible student, although I was really good at the subjects: UniBar 101, Advanced Procrastination and Local Hospitality Studies. This time around, I was lucky enough to know exactly what I wanted to study, and I found UniSA had the perfect degree for me. When I thought back on my first experience at Uni I realised that it was, (a) my fault that I did badly, (b) that things would have been better if I'd known where to get help, and (c) that I wanted to help new students choose the right path of study so they could succeed the first time. Being a Student Ambassador doesn't mean you have to provide anyone with the right answers, but just that you give them all the possible information they might need. You are responsible for representing the Division of Business at student recruitment events, and in return, have a chance to improve your communication, networking, problem solving and initiative skills. Participating in events allows you to share some of the great experiences you have had, and sometimes not-so-great experiences, so that students can make informed decisions. A Student Ambassador really needs to be passionate about their experience so far at UniSA, and want to share that with others. You will also have the drive to set goals, and the ability to achieve them, sometimes with the help of your fellow Ambassadors. The team leaders and coordinator of the Ambassador program will provide support, personal development opportunities, and social activities as a reward for you volunteering in this program." |
