How to burn a data DVD or CD
BUE-IT Support provides a limited service to the Heads of Schools and the Pro Vice Chancellor for the purpose of backing up their email archives to DVD/CD.
We can assist other divisional staff in the process of how to burn a DVD/CD. If you require assistance please log a service request through the IT Helpdesk.
CD XP Burner Pro
- Launch CD XP Burner Pro: Go to Start, All Programs, CD XP
Burner Pro, CD XP Burner Pro
- Select Data Disc. The data compilation screen will open - shown below:
- On the left hand menu select the drive where your data resides, and navigate to the folder you require on the right hand side menu.
- Once you have highlighted the folder you wish to burn to CD or DVD, select the Add button and the folder will appear in the bottom window. You can add as many folders or files as you require. The indicator across the bottom of the screen will change to show you the space remaining on the CD or DVD.
- Once you have all the data you require select the Burn button to burn to data to disc.
- You may be prompted to confirm you want to burn data - select
OK and the following window will appear. Once the CD/DVD has
completed the burning process it will eject. Please test the
CD/DVD to ensure the data has copied successfully.
