Going on leave/extended leave
When you are going to be absent for a period of time there are several steps you can take to notify people of your absence or allow other staff to relieve you.
None of these steps involve notifying other staff of your password or allowing them to logon as you.
For a short period of leave you may wish to do the following:
- Setup an Out of Office Assistant
- Change the voice mail message on your phone
In addition to the above, if you are going on extended leave you can give another staff member access to your email:
or by lodging a request with BUE-IT through the IT Help Desk you can
- Arrange for the relief staff to have the same network access as you.
- Depending on length of leave you may wish to be removed from distribution lists.
- You can also choose to make your email account inactive for long periods of leave.
