Graduate Profiles
The industry placements and mixture of business and IT allowed me to stand out from the crowd when seeking a career.
The Program benefited me the most by allowing me to make contacts within the IT industry - both social and professional benefits have come from this.
Hands on projects were especially beneficial in developing practical research and project management skills.
The Program has given me a broad base of skills, the ability to be flexible and manage ever-changing tasks and roles.
As a mature graduate, re-entering the workforce was always going to be difficult. I believe that the experiences I gained from the co-operative program gave me the edge that got me re-employed. The support I received from both my peer students and the University staff throughout the course and after graduation was second to none.
The BBIS Program gives an excellent grounding for anyone interested in a career within the IT / Business field. Students not only study a wide range of subjects, but also gain valuable industry experience which enables them to enter the workforce a step ahead of other graduates.
The best part of the Program was the work experience - working in professional organisations (The Mortgage Company, Orlando Wyndham and Adelaide Bank) and doing a valuable project that helps the firm. Also, the diversity of companies supporting the Program is excellent.
The Program has prepared me for the workforce more so than a normal degree. Although we griped about the thesis component and still do, I believe it has more benefits than industry understands. I have been able to put the perspective view it teaches you to good use.
A good program that gives opportunity. The program played a big part in providing the job opportunity - have had multiple job offers since.
