Business information systems program
Since
first being run in 1989, the Business Information Systems Program has seen
over 200 of the University of South Australia’s finest students graduate and
enter the workforce to become leaders of industry.
Catering for the needs of industry, the program was developed and
continues to develop through close consultation between the University and
the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. It combines courses from
both business and information systems to form a well rounded and grounded
graduate equipped with the necessary skills to meet employer demands and
to excel in their future careers.
The program is highly regarded by leading firms, locally, nationally
and internationally – 100% of previous graduates have obtained
professional employment. The program has also established an excellent
reputation within the academic community and has received special mention
from the Business/Higher Education Round Table.
The program offers partners:
- At least two 15-week student placements. Each student works on your site on your projects. Partners normally gain great practical value from these placements.
- Input to the development of information systems education.
- Networking with other leading South Australian organisations.
- Access to special seminars and visiting speakers at the University.
- An opportunity to recruit the best business information systems graduates.
- Recognition by the ICT community as a responsible ‘corporate citizen’.
The program offers students:
- Opportunity to gain an Undergraduate degree and a Master's degree in only four years of study.
- 11 months of professional placements in some of Australia's leading companies.
- Financial assistance in the final two years of study.
- The best possible start in an ICT career with high levels of accomplishment and satisfaction, where the pay is good and the options are many.
The history page has information about graduates and other people and organisations involved with the program since its inception.
