Four streams of study are available within this study program:

Master of Environmental Management and Sustainability
Are you passionate about looking after our planet? Then UniSA’s Environmental Management and Sustainability program might be just what you’re looking for. The program has been developed with extensive input and support from industry and reflects the current state of play in environmental management and sustainability in Australia and overseas.
Natural Resource Management
The strand provides professionals in the Natural Resource Management agencies and industry with the opportunity to develop a new range and skills and understandings relevant to their profession. It provides an introduction to the basic concepts and theoretical underpinnings of Environmental Management and Sustainability with a focus on developing a basic skill set in these areas and the opportunity to choose a set of courses that suit their particular professional needs and interests.
Water Management
The management of water resources is one of the most important aspects in achieving a sustainable future. This stream enables student to develop their skills and knowledge in such areas as flood control and mitigation, water quality control and modelling, waste water management and hydrology.
Geospatial Science
The Geospatial Science Stream is aimed at professionals who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in GIS, Remote Sensing and spatial analysis and modelling to an advanced level. The contemporary content reflects the current state of play in environmental management and sustainability in Australia and overseas and creates work ready professionals ready to meet the challenges of modern day resource management.
Urban Ecology
As more and more people live in urban environments it becomes increasingly
important to manage the urban ecosystem. This stream enables student to
develop an understanding of the role of plants and wild animals in the
ecology of cities and their management. It provides students with an
understanding of the ecological principles and environmental management
practices
involved in greening cities by means of biodiversity conservation and
restoration projects, as well as the skills to develop and sustain effective
partnerships with government, business/industry and the wider community

Master of Water Resources Management
The program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to
increase their breadth and depth of knowledge and application of skills in
the area of water resources management. The wide variety of specialised
coursework electives and study options enable students to create a program
of study that meets their individual needs. Study options include further
coursework, a research project or an industry project. The industry project
has been designed to assist students in becoming professionally aware
through quality interaction with industry leaders.

Master of Urban and Regional Planning
The Master of Urban and Regional Planning program at UniSA prepares graduates from a wide range of backgrounds for challenging and well‑paid careers in planning. Planners work at a range of scales – local, state, national and international – and provide advice to governments, private developers, local communities and other participants in the urban development process.
The program provides a broad understanding of processes of urban and
regional development and a grounding in the key areas of professional
knowledge and skill required by planners. Core areas of the program include:
Planning Policy and Law, the Economics of Property Development, Social
Planning, Sustainable Urban Design, Energy‑Efficient Settlements and
Buildings, Transport Planning and Environmental Impact Assessment. Students
can also take elective courses and streams in a wide range of related areas,
including Urban Ecology, Architectural and Cultural Heritage, Environmental
Law, Professional Ethics and Planning in Developing Countries. A highlight
of the program for many students is the opportunity to take part in an
international urban design studio, held in Penang, Malaysia, each September.
This studio, like most of the other elements of coursework in the program,
focuses on real‑world issues and on resolving contemporary social and
environmental problems.

Master of Project Management
This program is intended to provide an advanced study in generic project management using "A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge, 2004 Project Management Institute, USA" as a framework, and is designed to meet the knowledge requirement of international best practice for project management.
It also provides the students with the opportunity to integrate and apply
the knowledge to develop, organise and implement a work plan for research.

Master of Facilities and Asset Management
As organisations strive to make more effective use of existing assets and seek more sustainable solutions to new assets, the demand for properly educated and qualified Facilities and Asset Managers will continue to increase.
The activities of Facilities and Asset Managers can range from high level strategic decision making through to the operational management of facilities. They are responsible for coordinating physical assets, information technology and human resources of organisations to provide the most effective service delivery. They are employed in both the public and private sectors and in both areas they ensure that the assets of an organisation are aligned with its business objectives.
Professionals involved in asset management can have a variety of backgrounds including finance, business, property, architecture, design, engineering and construction. Undertaking a program in Facilities and Asset Management will provide these people with a structured academic framework which will enhance their skills and knowledge base.
All courses are delivered by experts in the field, most of whom are
practising professionals with a wide variety of experience. The courses will
draw upon case studies and workshops and the exchange of information between
students will be encouraged. Options are available for those students
wishing to specialise in a particular area. Masters students will undertake
a research project which can be based on a real workplace problem or issue
to be solved or investigated.

Master of Transport Systems Engineering (sustainable transport)
This Transport Systems Engineering program is designed to provide Masters
level expertise in the design control of transport systems in executing
research projects and continuing education for graduate students with
professional interests in the area of transport systems engineering and
planning. In addition, students will have demonstrated a capacity to
undertake independent research and the have the ability to report in detail
on research investigations.

Master of Applied Science (Environmental Risk Assessment and Remediation)
The program provides specialist training and prepares graduates for a
range of careers within the areas of environmental risk assessment, site
assessment and contaminated site remediation. The programs lead to the
development of strong technical competencies together with a detailed
understanding of the knowledge required to assess risk, characterise
contaminant risk, model the behaviour and transport of toxicants and
practical implementation of contaminated site remediation. Global issues,
international perspectives and management skills equip students to deal with
problems in a wide range of settings and contexts. The Masters program has
the potential to develop strong links with industry through an
industry-based project which provides an excellent opportunity for graduates
to choose career paths and destinations.
