Graduate Certificate in Business Information Management (DCBI)
Today's businesses are seeking a new breed of
information manager professionals who are technically proficient,
knowledgeable and able to work efficiently in an ever-changing
workplace.
Due to the rapid evolution of information technology in the areas
of: archiving, library, and records management, education and
training for managers
has taken place mainly on the job.
There is now a need to formalise training and research within
higher education, in partnership with industry and government.
There is a growing synergy between public and private enterprise and further evidence of South Australias role as an innovative world leader in information education, research and delivery.
Technology evolution
All students undertaking this ground-breaking initiative will be able to study totally online via UniSAs online environment anywhere in the world, but don't despair, local students will be able to study part-time or full-time face-to-face at the City West campus.
Students in these programs will have access to highly skilled lecturers from private and public sectors, and will be able to take advantage of cutting-edge research and the latest technology. Graduates of these degrees will be eagerly pursued for their invaluable practical and theoretical skills and knowledge.
The Graduate Certificate of Business Information Management has four specialisations:
Enterprise Content and Knowledge Management
Library Management
Preservation and Archival Management
Records Management
Successful completion of any of these specialisations will
provide the
opportunity to graduate or to continue onto a higher degree either
through the corresponding Graduate Diploma or Masters
program in Business Information Management or Library and Information
Management and receive credit for the four courses undertaken.
Students who have completed the TAFE
award - Diploma in Library and Information Services will need to contact
Moira Lawler as you may be eligible for 2
courses of credit towards the Graduate Certificate specialisation in
Library Management.

If you have a degree and apply for the Graduate Certificate, please note that SATAC will obtain a copy of your transcript from the relevant university. If it is a university that SATAC doesn't recognise they will contact you and request a copy of your academic transcripts.

If you are applying on the basis of 5 years or more of employment history, you will need to complete the section under employment history. If SATAC require any additional information after you complete this section they will contact you.

Entry requirements
- Australian applicants would normally hold a three-year degree
or an equivalent qualification or
