What is Bring us your Bugs?
Researchers from UniSA and the South Australian Museum are collecting live invertebrates (animals without backbones) from the 'wilds' of Adelaide - anything that flies, crawls, slithers, slides, swims or burrows - and YOU can help! We want to find out what invertebrates we have living around us!

When was the first Bring us your Bugs?
Bring us your Bugs was held on the front lawns of the South Australian Museum on Thursday 22nd January, 2009, from 8.30am to 12 noon. The event was broadcast by 891 ABC Adelaide.

People who brought bugs in were rewarded with a "Bug Bag" with loads of fun and helpful bug gear, including:

There were also loads of extra prizes, including Gift Vouchers for the South Australian Museum and certificates for collectors who brought in:

Who (and what) was there?
- There were bug experts available to identify your bugs from the
South Australian Museum, UniSA,
and the Adelaide and Mount Lofty
Ranges Natural Resource Management Board
- Matthew Abraham and David Bevan
from the 891 ABC Adelaide Morning
Program talked with the public and interviewed the experts!
- A waterbug display was set up by the Adelaide and Mount Lofty
Ranges Natural Resource Management Board
- A working beehive (safely behind glass) was set up by the
Beekeepers Society of South Australia
- A Butterfly Garden display was set up courtesy of State Flora Belair Nursery
