The Barbara Hardy Institute brings together world-leading researchers to work in multidisciplinary teams on real-world issues. Our researchers are scientists, engineers and social scientists, working together with a focus on the sustainability of our society.
The Institute, whose patron is the widely respected Dr Barbara Hardy, champions her vision for the 'widespread adoption of sustainable principles and environmentally correct practices.'

Our Patron - Barbara Hardy
Barbara Hardy has been working passionately in the environment field in a
voluntary capacity since the early 1970s. She has had numerous roles,
including President of the National Parks Foundation of South Australia
(now Nature Foundation SA). Barbara has been appointed an Officer of the General Division of the
Order of Australia (AO), among other awards. She has a long and valued association with the UniSA.
