Civil Aviation

The world of aeronautics offers a considerable scope for an exciting and rewarding career to both males and females interested in becoming involved in the field of aviation.

Civil Aviation is not only about flying an aircraft - it also requires an understanding of the fundamentals of aerodynamics, aircraft power plants and systems, meteorology, navigation and flight planning, all integrated with a highly disciplined, professional flying training program much sought after by airlines.

Modern pilots require a thorough knowledge of computer controlled flight management systems, together with the associated technology, and flight operation and crew resource management.

The Bachelor of Applied Science (Civil Aviation) degree  program consists of three years of academic study with the option to undertake flight training at the UniSA Aviation Academy.

This program is of world standard and provides students with broad theoretical and practical knowledge of the fundamentals of aerodynamics, meteorology, navigation and flight planning and includes study of modern computer controlled aircraft management systems.

The program provides practical flying training which includes local sightseeing tours and a fly-away to Alice Springs. These provide students with real-world practical experiences and the opportunity to make industry contacts.
