Research degrees
Research is often defined as the systematic way in which we learn
about, interpret and understand some existing thing or body of knowledge,
for a definite purpose. This purpose can be embodied in one or more
questions we might want to ask or solve.
The School of Art, Architecture and Design at the University of South Australia offers research degree programs at Masters and Doctoral degree levels. A research degree advances knowledge and/or applications of knowledge through the preparation of a substantial thesis that represents a significant contribution to a particular field of study. Students are encouraged to collaborate across a range of disciplines to help solve real-world problems and contribute to the betterment of society.
School of Art, Architecture and Design research degree students engage in an intensive individual program of research under the guidance of experienced supervisors with research expertise in a specific area.
