Patjaar Visitors Centre (under construction)The Centre for Settlement Studies brings together research expertise from several disciplines and subdisciplines in the School of Art, Architecture and Design. The Centre's projects take in local, national and international sites with particular focus on metropolitan, rural and remote areas and Aboriginal communities in South Australia.

 


Members of the Centre

Members work on individual projects, and also collaborate with colleagues within the Centre, the School of Art, Architecture and Design and several University of South Australia Schools, as well as with other Australian universities, the professions and the wider community.

The Centre for Settlement Studies may invite associate members to collaborate on specific projects relevant to the groups research agenda. Associate members may be academics, members of the professions, industry partners or postgraduate students.

Research expertise in the Centre for Settlement Studies includes sustainable architecture for remote areas; construction technology; architectural, urban design, planning and landscape history and theory; and conservation and management of heritage places. Specifically:
