2008 South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival

The 2008 South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival will be held between 1-17 August. It is a time when our states visual artists come together and showcase a vast spectrum of painting, photography, sculpture, pottery, ceramics, mixed media, moving image and just about anything else that comes under the visual arts umbrella.    

Artist registrations are being sought for participation in the 11th annual Festival. Registrations close 30 April. Registration forms and registration information can be obtained from the SALA Office on phone 8218 8450 or visit the SALA Festival website

Nexus Multicultural Arts Centre

Nexus Multicultural Arts Centre is inviting proposals for the Cabaret Window Space. Exhibition space is available during 2008. This space is an excellent 'fee free' opportunity to expose yourself as an up and coming artist with a gallery that is well respected within the art industry.

SASA Gallery exhibition proposals

The new purpose-built South Australian School of Art Gallery is a great opportunity for the school to showcase the work of its staff, students and graduates. The Gallery's aim is to exhibit a range of curated, competition and award shows of high professional standing reflecting the School's dedication to diverse programming and to equality of media. Helpmann Academy logoHelpmann Academy

The Helpmann Academy provides support to South Australian School of Art students and recent graduates through grants, mentorships, visiting artist programs and free publicity for your exhibition or special project.

Magazines and bulletins
Update Arts Magazine is published five times a year. All contributions in the form of articles and photographs are welcome. Articles may be edited.

To keep up to date with grant rounds and opportunities, along with exhibitions and arts events happening in and around Adelaide you can subscribe to their fortnightly Foundation Front e-Bulletin. To subscribe just send an email to helpmann@tafe.sa.edu.au with 'SASA Subscribe' in the subject field and your name and contact details in the email body.

Become a member of Foundation Front for free to receive the fortnightly e-Bulletin and Update Arts Magazine in the post, as well as a membership card with discounts on fashion, travel, dining and more. You will also be included on the Helpmann Academy's artist register (we put organisations/galleries wanting artwork in contact with you).

Helpmann Academy Grants Scheme
The Helpmann Academy Grants Scheme offers grants twice a year. The grants rounds close each year on the last Friday in March and second Friday in August. More information

Mentorship Scheme
The Ashington Mentorship Scheme is for first and second year out graduate emerging artists of the Helpmann Academy partner schools. More information

Awards
The Academy administers various awards such as the Adelaide Bank Award, the Keith Michell Award for a performing artist, the Jeffrey Smart Artprize and the Minter Ellison Awards. More information
