Architecture Programs at UniSA
 

Why has the 5 year Bachelor program changed to a 3+2 format
In line with National and International Professional Standards, UniSA and 2 other Australian universities have moved to the 3+2 format. It is anticipated that over the next 2 years all Australian universities will amend their architecture suite of programs as well.

What is the entry requirement to the 3 year Bachelor of Architectural Studies?
Same as the previous Bachelor of Architecture (TER of 80 in 2009)

How many places are allocated to FPOS students in the Bachelor of Architectural Studies?
At this stage there is no limit on places

Does the Bachelor of Architectural Studies provide professional recognition to allow a graduate to call themselves an Architect?
No. The Bachelor of Architectural Studies is a pre-professional program recognised by the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) and the Architects Accreditation
Council of Australia (AACA). Students in the program are eligible for student membership of the RAIA and are eligible to apply for entry into a two years professional degree.

What are the employment opportunities for graduates from the Bachelor of Architectural Studies?
Design, construction and project managers
Urban designers
Heritage consultants
Furniture designers
Designer

What are the entry requirements to the 2 year Master of Architecture?
A Bachelor degree in a 3 year pre-professional architecture program from a recognised higher education institution or equivalent, or
A completed Graduate Diploma in Architecture from a recognised higher education institution
GPA of 4.0.

How many places are allocated to FPOS students in the Master of Architecture?
At this stage there is no limit on places. We anticipate that not every student will want to progress to the Master of Architecture

Is the new 2 year Master of Architecture program accredited by the Architects Board of South Australia?
Yes, and allows for registration as an Architect. The Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) also recognises the program.

What is the entry point for both programs?
Students can only commence in Study Period 2. There will be no Study Period 5 entry.
