Academic Process
Panorama to Paradise will have a double blind peer review of the
full written paper. At least one of these peers will be external to the
conference committee. All papers refereed and accepted for presentation
will be published in a CD-Rom. The CR-Rom will be an insert to a Book of
Abstracts organized by conference themes, which will be distributed to
conference delegates and for sale. The CD-Rom of edited refereed papers
and the Book of Abstracts will form the official Proceedings of the
SAHANZ 07 conference.
General instructions
The target length of your paper should be approximately 4,000 words.
This does not include endnotes. Endnotes should be limited to citations
where possible
Include the paper's title but not your name
You may submit six illustrations with your text. You must have
copyright for any images that you send. If the copyright is not yours
you must attach a letter from the copyright owner giving permission. If
an image is in your copyright, please state this
Copyright of your paper and any images of yours will be retained by
you. PANORAMA TO PARADISE will have copyright over the Proceedings as an
edited collection
The presentations will be strictly 20 minutes with 10 minutes for
questions
Document Form
Data Form
Your submission must be in data form, using Microsoft Word 98 or later
Scan your hard disc for viruses before you begin. Start with a new
blank document
Name your computer document using the following file
naming convention: <your ID number which you will see on your
abstract_Surname_keyword from title of paper>
For example: 45_Smith_Palladio.doc
Submit the paper as a Microsoft Word file through the OCPMS.

Document layout

The details of this template are as follows:
The document should be set up with 2.5cm margins top and bottom, 2.8cm
margins left and right, on single A4 pages. IE: no header or footer, no
gutter, no odd/even format, no special first page, no page numbering
Title of Paper, Arial 16pt Bold: Sub-title of Paper, Arial 16pt Bold,
Single Line Spacing
Follow the title with an updated abstract titled "Abstract". It should
be less than 300 words (in addition to the paper word limit). The
abstract may be printed separately to the papers so please do not
integrate the abstract into your introduction. Arial 11pt Italics, 1.5
line spacing, blocked by indenting them by 1cm on both margins. Two
returns before first heading
Use 'normal style' and make this 11 point Arial, with 1.5 line
spacing. Make paragraph breaks with one return. Do not use indents,
tabs, or 'space before/after' for paragraphs
Headings, Arial 11pt Bold. One return after heading. No sub-headings
Quotes longer than three lines should be blocked by indenting them
by 1cm on both margins
Use italic for bibliographic references or foreign language terms
only. Do not use bold, or underlining or vary the font size.
Illustrations
You may submit six illustrations with your text. Insert the images
into your Word document
Resolution of the images must be 200dpi
Images may be in colour or black and white
Centre align image. Height of all images should be 7cm for
consistency. Width of image shall be less than or equal to the width of
the body text. The images and captions shall be centred on the page,
Arial, 10pt, single line spacing, caption centre aligned and indented
2.5cm on both sides
Label image caption Figure 1. Arial 11pt Bold, followed by Title of
image, brief description if required (source of image as per citation
style)
One return follows a caption
Locate image as close as practicable to the relevant section of your
text
Maximum? of one image or one composite per page
Footnotes
Endnotes Arial 10pt, single line spacing, left aligned
The notes system used will be endnotes rather than footnotes. Use the
Footnote function in Word and set it to 'endnotes', with Arabic
numbering from 1. Do not use Bibliographic software such as Endnote to
format your citations. Endnote will leave in control characters which
could make the layout difficult
For the Citation Style, please observe the endnote guidelines as
illustrated in the following examples. For exceptions to the examples
below consult Kate Turabian, A Manual for Writers.

Spellings should follow those used in The Oxford English Dictionary
or The Macquarie Dictionary.
