3C Research Seminar Series

Screens of Memory

For the past two decades discussions around memory and remembrance have caught the imagination of many scholars writing in the humanities and social sciences. In history, cultural studies, sociology, anthropology, visual art and design theory, memory has been widely embraced and frequently theorised or re-formulated.

This latest offering in our popular three school seminar series will attempt to look at approaches to, and uses of memory theory, from different perspectives in different disciplines. Each seminar will begin with an overview or introductory paper, where readings will be distributed, and this will be followed by a workshop on the readings led by the invited speaker.

Speakers notes will be added as links beside each session in the schedule below, and readings can be accessed via the link below the schedule to the Library website.

Sessions for study period 5 (second semester) have not yet been finalised, but will be added  as they become available.

Staff, research and honours students are all welcome.

All sessions will be held in the new Kaurna building, City West, in the LLS School of Architecture and Designs meeting room, K 3-13.  Staff in the School of Architecture and Design Office will show you to the meeting room.  Drinks and nibbles will be provided.
