Project title:

Stress calculations for a 50t tray lifting device

Brief description of project:

Calculations were required to determine the size and capabilities of a lifting device to be used in the assembly of mining truck. Specifically to lift the tray body onto the vehicle chassis.

The device is required to lift three different bodies onto their chassis, these all have slightly different sizes and specifications. The tray widths range from 160mm to the widest of 300mm

The device also has to be safe during lifting and not allow the tray to slip off or move excessively.

The device also has to be operated by 1 person, and located into the tray lifting point, the lifting points are really only accessible from inside the tray due to the size and height of the tray. Therefore any locking device has to be operated from the operators side.
