Welcome
The School offers high quality teaching in undergraduate, postgraduate and applied research in the areas of advanced manufacturing, industrial engineering, design, and sustainable energy developments with an excellent reputation both nationally and internationally with extensive collaborative research projects. In addition, a number of cooperative training programs provide engineering students with industrial experience throughout the duration of their study. Graduates gain employment in wealth creating industries that generate employment growth and economic prosperity for the community. Professional recognition of these programs enables graduates to be fully accredited with Australian and overseas professional bodies including a number of institutions. This wide recognition means that graduates can readily work throughout Australia and in a number of overseas countries without reassessment of their qualifications.
The school currently has four categories of programs as below:
- For prospective undergraduate applicants, programs are offered with streams in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, and robotics and manufacturing. The final year projects particularly link students to the industries for employment opportunities.
- For prospective postgraduate applicants, programs are offered with streams in advanced manufacturing technology, manufacturing and technology management, energy management, and logistics and supply chain management.
- Transnational degrees provided with education institutes and universities are also available to students in their own country.
- The research degrees: the school offers PhD research projects related to sustainable energy, manufacturing, industrial engineering, and global logistics with scholarships opportunities. The School hosts three research centres which conduct research and undertake industrial consultancy activities by using comprehensive teaching and research laboratories.
The School rewards high achieving students with prizes and awards sponsored by industry partners and other eligible students with scholarships in all undergraduate, postgraduate by coursework and research degree programs.
The School of Advanced Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering has established long-standing association with external organisations and past students and each year annual events are organised to foster these relationships. Our advisory board consists of senior academic staff from the university, industrial partners, related associations, and the Australian Government. It ensures the quality of our teaching and research.
