Mechanical engineering is not just about cars, but rather the application of maths to physics at its theoretical base. When looking at those highlighted words, most people see maths or physics. Graduate Mechanical Engineers, many of whom have chosen their career path and are working before they graduate, see only one word – application. Whilst virtually everything about cars involves mechanical engineering, the automotive industry is just one of the many exciting and challenging areas a mechanical engineer will work in.
