- Abstract: Reliability based design of mechanical components and discrete systems have been practiced for a considerable time. The aim of this project is the reliability based design of mechanical structures (as continuous mechanical systems) and to link it with the concept of design for six sigma. Statistical methods of structural mechanics can be used as the foundation for this reason.
