About the scholarship

The School of Advanced Manufacturing & Mechanical Engineering (AME) has up to four scholarships available every year to assist Year 12 students who wish to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.

Selection Criteria

To be and remain eligible for this scholarship, students must:

• be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident of Australia
• have completed their SACE Certificate (or interstate equivalent) with an entry TER of 90 or better
• have selected one of the following AME programs as preferences on their SATAC application form:
  • 434321 B Engineering (Mechanical)
  • 434761 B Engineering (Mechanical and Nanotechnology)
  • 434771 B Engineering (Mechanical and Sustainable Systems)
  • 434781 B Engineering (Mechanical and Mechatronic)
  • 434791 B Engineering (Mechanical and Advanced Manufacturing)
• maintain continued full-time enrolment of at least 8 courses during the scholarship term (based on SP2 and SP5 enrolments only)
• maintain enrolment in the B.Eng programs within the School
• maintain an overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0 or higher during the first 1.5 years of the program for continued scholarship payments
• not take leave from the program during the first 1.5 years

The Scholarships will not be offered if there are no suitable applicants.

Students who meet all of the milestones may be invited to participate in the AME Advanced Skill Development program, which supports undergraduate students who excel academically.

UniSA reserves the right to make changes to the name of programs or courses.

The value of the scholarship

The total value for each scholarship is up to AUD$2,000, with four scholarships made available every year. Each scholarship consists of four payments of AUD$500 each, which are paid over 1.5 years to eligible students. The first payment is made upon entry and the remaining three payments are made at the end of the first three semesters of study where recipients maintain a GPA of 5.0 or better. Students who meet the entry criteria and ongoing criteria for this scholarship will receive:

• $500 payment after 31 March upon confirmation that the student is enrolled in 4 courses within the program
• Further payments of 3 x $500 will be released to students at the end of each study period upon maintaining a GPA of 5.0 or higher after academic review for Study Period 2 and Study Period 5 in Year 1, and Study Period 2 in Year 2
