April 2006
WelcomeWelcome to the bi-monthly email edition of Graduate Update, keeping you informed and up to date with what's happening at your university. This year we hope to forge new relationships with you, as alumni of UniSA and its former institutions. You will soon be receiving an alumni membership card which entitles you to many benefits. To ensure that you receive your card, please update your contact details through our website. More information on alumni benefits will be released throughout the year so keep an eye on the alumni website and the alumni newspaper The Graduate. So if you know a UniSA graduate who has not kept in touch, please send them Graduate Update and encourage them to register online so they too can share in the benefits of being a registered alumnus of UniSA. Network Now - UniSA's largest networking dinner
In 2006, the number of table hosts (UniSA alumni and industry leaders) at each table will increase from two to three ensuring that at every table, you will be sitting next to a table host. Network Now has created many ongoing relationships between students, graduates and industry. By registering you are also given the opportunity to attend a personal development workshop that provides information on how to network and communicate effectively with industry. New Uni4U - Workshops for senior alumni
Then Uni4U, a new series of challenging workshops may be just your thing. Uni4U is a series of hands-on specific interest workshops especially tailored to our older alumni. The workshops will cover topics ranging from writing your own book, to being taught how to work out those frustrating cryptic crosswords. There are four workshops open to 15-20 people planned for this year. Starting in May we are holding a workshop about reading and writing - not in the ordinary sense but with an emphasis on how to write a book or article. It will also include a discussion group about novels and how to incorporate the latest technology, something for budding authors and critics. There will also be opportunities to meet authors face-to-face and hear how they started their writing careers, to hear about the obstacles they had to overcome and how their first book was published. This readers and writers group will allow you to explore all your literary passions with kindred spirits. For the computer buffs among us, we will explore the technology available to form discussion groups using podcasts and blogs and will look at the many new and different ways to create and share information. To register your interest please contact Desiree Utting Please hurry as registrations for Uni4U Workshops are limited. |

Network
Now is UniSA's largest networking dinner providing the opportunity
for UniSA graduates and students to meet and network with successful
UniSA alumni high achievers in their chosen professions or careers
and industry leaders. The venue for Network Now is the world
class Adelaide Convention Centre and includes an exquisite dinner.
This dinner is different. After each course graduates and students
change seats, giving them the opportunity to develop networking
skills and meet new people.
Are
you one of our senior alumni - a Baby Boomer or over 50 years
of age? Do you remember the fabulous intellectual challenges
of your university days and how invigorating it felt?
