The University of South Australia Alumni Association of Malaysia held their annual dinner on Saturday 14 July at the Hotel Equatorial Kuala Lumpur. Chapter Executive Committee members, including President Lee Wan Ling and Vice Presidents Julia Mok Ee Teng and Noriah Abul Talip, attended the event along with members of senior UniSA staff including the Vice Chancellor and President Professor Peter Høj, Chancellor Mr David Klingberg and Pro Vice Chancellor and Vice President International and Development Dr Anna Ciccarelli.
More than 130 alumni also attended the
dinner,
many wearing traditional dress in keeping with the event theme
Unity in Diversity.
The event provided an opportunity to welcome Professor Peter Høj as the University's new Vice Chancellor, and to farewell Chancellor Mr David Klingberg who will be retiring in June 2008.

The University of South Australia Singapore Alumni Association's 2007 Reunion was held on Wednesday, 18 July 2007 at Goodwood Park Hotel, Singapore.
Chapter Executive Committee members, including President Richard Quek and Vice Presidents Chew Ai Mei and Daveed Tan, attended the event together with members of senior UniSA staff including the Vice Chancellor and President Professor Peter Høj, Chancellor Mr David Klingberg and Pro Vice Chancellor and Vice President International and Development Dr Anna Ciccarelli.
Among the VIP's attending the event was Singapore's Director of Education Mr Suhaimy Hassan Director ( Education, Science & Training) Australian Education International Singapore, Australian High Commission.
The event had a distinctive South Australian flavour with UniSA's Associate Professor Tony Spawton, Acting Head of School, School of Marketing, guiding over 200 guests on a South Australian Wine Appreciation experience. Wine tasting was sponsored by Hardy Wines.
The Wines tasted on the night were:
- Hardys Oomoo Unwooded Chardonnay (Mclaren Vale)
- Hardys Nottage Hill Chardonnay (SA Blend)
- Hardys Nottage Hill Shiraz (Mclaren Vale)
- Hardys Oomoo Shiraz (Mclaren Vale)
Professor Tony Spawton not only discussed in depth each of the wines, but also how to best match these wines to the selection of food available on the night.
The wine tasting was very successful with many Singapore Graduates tasting Hardy Wines for the first time.
The event also gave Alumni an opportunity to farewell their Chancellor of 10 years, Mr David Klingberg and meet the new Vice Chancellor Professor Peter Høj.

Hong Kong
The University of South Australia's Alumni Association
Hong Kong and MBA Club, together with UniSA's Doctoral Society, held
their 10th Anniversary Alumni event on Saturday, 21 July 2007
at the Hong Kong Clubhouse of Macau Jockey Club.
Chapter Executive Committee members, including Chair
Mr Villy Lai and Vice Chairs Alex Tang, Tim Lee, Edward Lam and
Valentino Lim, attended the event together with members of
senior UniSA staff including the Vice Chancellor and President Professor
Peter Høj, Chancellor Mr David Klingberg and Pro
Vice Chancellor and Vice President International and Development Dr Anna
Ciccarelli.
150 guests attended the event. Among the VIP's
attending was Murray Cobbans, Australian Consul General.
Again, Alumni were given the opportunity to farewell their Chancellor of 10 years, Mr David Klingberg and meet the new Vice Chancellor Professor Peter Høj.
