Living with a local family, couple or single person can be a good way to familiarise yourself with your new environment. For international students, it's a further opportunity to practise your English language skills and learn about the Australian lifestyle.
Some students choose homestay just for their first 4 weeks in Adelaide and look for long term accommodation during this time. While others like to stay long term. Normally full board is provided (your own furnished room plus meals). Electricity, gas and water are included, too. Costs for full board are approximately $220 - $250 per week.
