Arriving in a new country for the first time can be a daunting experience, especially if you're alone.
That's why we provide a free on arrival reception service when you arrive, to welcome you to Adelaide and to the University of South Australia. Our University representative will meet you at the airport, bus terminal or train station and take you to your accommodation.
You must make your own arrangements for your first few nights' accommodation in Adelaide. To book your on arrival reception you'll need to enter the name and address of your accommodation. If you are yet to confirm your accommodation visit the University's student accommodation website for help.
Once you know your arrival and accommodation details you can book your on-arrival reception. Services must be booked at least three days prior to your arrival. You will receive a confirmation email.
If you are travelling with your partner or children, they are also eligible for these services.
If you are unable to book your on-arrival reception at least three days before your arrival in Adelaide, you can take the Adelaide Metro’s JETExpress bus from the airport to the city. This double decker bus is an inexpensive way to travel to the city. You may purchase a ticket on the bus. Please note that you are not able to purchase a student fare without a UniSA Student ID card.
Our representative will be holding a UniSA sign with your name and waiting to meet you inside the airport terminal.
If arriving by air, it is a good idea to exchange money before you leave the Airport terminal. Approximately A$100 should cover your initial expenses. Money exchange agencies are available on the ground level of Adelaide Airport.
Staying at Unilodge?
If you are staying at a Unilodge apartment, we will drive you to the Unilodge Head Office in Victoria Street, Adelaide for you to formally check in and get your key. Please make sure you have sufficient Australian currency or a credit card to pay for a taxi to then transfer you to your prescribed accommodation if required.
If you are arriving outside of UniLodge office hours or on the weekend please ensure you have spoken to UniLodge staff prior to arriving to ensure your after-hours check in has been arranged and confirmed. It is important that you advise staff at UniLodge of your flight details as part of this process.
