Small Business Commissioner for South Australia

Mike Sinkunas was appointed as South Australia's inaugural Small Business Commissioner in March 2012, following his 25 years of leadership and executive experience gained in a number of industries and enterprises.

Early in his career, Mr Sinkunas held a range of leadership positions in the education sector at metropolitan and country high schools. He also gained experience as a small business operator as developer and co-proprietor of a computing business in a regional area, and as the owner of a small farm in South Australia's south-east. In addition, he has held a variety of senior positions within various departments of the State's public service.

Mr Sinkunas holds a Master of Business Administration from Deakin University, is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and also holds post graduate qualifications in management, education and information technology.
