Adelaide is the most affordable mainland Australian capital city for study, according to research from the Economist Intelligence Unit (EUI). In 2011, Adelaide was ranked as Australia’s most liveable city by the Property Council of Australia, and rated as one of the world’s top 10 most liveable cities in the EUI’s Liveability Survey 2010.

With a population of just over one million people, the Adelaide community is a welcoming place to live and study, and is tolerant of religious beliefs and practices.

Time zone

Adelaide is +9.5 hours GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) and +10.5 hours GMT during summer daylight savings. For example, we are 2.5 hours ahead of China, 7-8 hours ahead of the UK and Europe and 12-15 hours ahead of the US.


Adelaide has four distinct seasons including comfortably warm to hot temperatures in summer and refreshingly mild winters, while Whyalla is generally warmer.


Dress on campus is informal. In summer, lightweight clothes and sandals or sneakers are sufficient. In winter, warm clothing with woollen sweaters, coat and a waterproof jacket are needed.


Adelaide is a quick and easy place to get around, with an integrated bus, train and tram public transport system connecting all parts of the city and suburbs. All UniSA campuses are easily accessible by public transport, and student parking is available at Magill and Mawson Lakes.
