With over 25 years experience in industry, Maria is a serial entrepreneur who has provided strategic business and commercialisation advice to a diverse range of industries. Maria is responsible for the Institute’s external engagement, business development and for driving its strategic direction. Maria also leads research projects and training in strategic growth and competitive positioning.

She is also responsible for the overall operations of the Centre, ensuring engagement with industry and government is managed professionally, and that project management, along with best practice, underlies all of its collaborative contract research.

 Lesley is responsible for managing research projects to ensure they are delivered on time and within budget.  She also supports business development activities and building partnerships and collaborations with industry.  Her previous background includes business development, editorial and professional training roles within Online Business Forums and within the Creative Industries, Insurance, Superannuation and Financial Services sectors.  She also has extensive experience developing products and services for Industry and Professional Groups.  Lesley has a Bachelor of Business degree from QUT.

Frances is responsible for managing projects and works with client partners and research teams to achieve on time and on budget project execution. She also manages the Institute's operations and acts as a pivotal communication point for the Institute's professional and academic teams.

She has over 15 years experience in marketing, project management and managerial roles in the corporate sector and has worked for four years as an administrator within the university research sector.

 Dr. Ali Ardeshiri received his Ph. D in 2014 from Newcastle University-UK, specialising in discrete choice behaviour and hedonic pricing model; particularly with respect to accessibility to urban amenities.

Prior to joining UniSA as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, he contributed as the chief investigator of multiple research contracts in urban planning topics such as cities' sustainable development, urban quality of life, urban environmental quality, housing and informal settlement and planned behaviour in relation to urban transportation.

Dr. Ardeshiri's key area of expertise is in exploring the spatial distribution of consumer preference and choice using ArcGIS. Currently, Ali is active in working in the areas of urban & environmental planning, tourism planning and destination choice.

Spring is responsible for translating the technical findings of research projects into clear recommendations and strategies for clients. Spring is involved at all stages of the research process including identifying the research aims and scope, data management, analysis, and preparation of reports. She is passionate about delivering high quality research which provides clients with the insights they need to solve problems. Spring is completing her PhD in choice methods and models and has experience in lecturing and teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Karen is responsible for the technical aspects of all the Institute’s projects, including survey programming, panel administration, decision support systems and survey application development. She works closely with software and panel providers to ensure surveys are carried out to the specifications of both the clients and academics.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Computing degree from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Karla is responsible for working in collaboration with the Institute for Choice team on day-to-day tasks such as finance, computing and general office duties. Karla is currently in her third year of a combined double degree, studying a Bachelor of Commerce - Accounting with a Bachelor of Laws at Macquarie University, Sydney.
