The Sansom Institute for Health Research Symposium Series brings together Sansom research concentrations with leading international and national researchers. The symposia are designed to promote cutting-edge research and explore collaborative opportunities. The Symposium Series, is also designed to establish and strengthen research relationships and create avenues for an exchange of knowledge on important health questions.

Dr Michael Hageman, Executive Director of Discovery Pharmaceutics, Matrix Lead for Biologics Biophys Characterization at Bristol-Myers Squibb, Princeton NJ, is pleased to present 2 lectures:

'Overview of the Early Drug Discovery Process' - A broad overview of the early preclinical/clinical phases of the drug discovery process for both small molecules and biologics. Including the role of pharmacists and health care workers in the overall drug discovery process and challenges that exist in developing and commercializing a successful drug

'Application of Supersaturation and Solid Dispersion Technology to Enhance Oral Absorption' - A focus on the value of supersaturation in drug delivery and the formulation strategies that might be employed to enhance oral bioavailability
