Honours scholarships

The Wark offers six scholarships of up to AU$10,000 per annum for students enrolling in the Bachelor of Science (Honours) (Nano- and Bio-materials) program.

In exceptional circumstances, successful applicants may enrol in another relevant honours program at UniSA and undertake a research project in The Wark. These students will receive 50% of the full value of the scholarship.

SCAA Memorial Trust Scholarship

Students with an outstanding third-year performance in their degree program and who are enrolling in the Bachelor of Science (Honours) (Nano- and Bio-materials) are invited to apply for the the Surface Coatings Association Australia (SCAA) Memorial Trust Scholarship. Applicants should be majoring in chemistry or physical chemistry or nanotechnology and have an interest in an area closely associated with coatings technology.

This scholarship is valued at AU$10,000 per annum, paid by fortnightly stipend.

For information on how and when to apply for Honours scholarships or the SCAA scholarship, please contact Louise Jennings.

Vacation scholarships

Vacation scholarships give outstanding undergraduate students the chance to undertake research at The Wark for up to two months (usually between the December to February period). Successful applicants work within one or more of our research sectors. A tax-free stipend of $350 per week is paid fortnightly.

We welcome applications from both UniSA students and students from other institutions who have consistently achieved a high level of academic performance in their degree program. As a minimum requirement, students must have completed the first year of their degree program.

Applicants are encouraged to visit The Wark, to view our facilities, and to meet some of our research staff and postgraduate students. Project outlines are discussed and developed in conjunction with successful applicants prior to commencement.

The closing date for applications (Word doc) is 30 September of each year. We will acknowledge your application by email.

For further information, please contact Louise Jennings.
