Prof Elliott is the Director of the Hawke Research Institute, and also Research Professor of Sociology at the University of South Australia. He has authored and edited over 30 books, and specialises in the intricate connections between mobile lifestyles, identity and globalisation.

As a Distinguished Professor of Sociology and Founding Director of the Centre for Mobilities Research (CeMoRe) and the Mobilities.Lab at Lancaster University, Professor Urry is a key innovator and advocate of the new mobilities paradigm, and a leading expert on the social scientific study of tourism and travel.

David RadfordDr David Radford
Research Assistant

Dr Radford is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Hawke Research Institute, University of South Australia. Having completed his PhD in in 2011, Dr Radford’s research interests include identity transformations, specifically religious and cultural changes, with a focus on the regions of Central Asia, South Asia and the Middle East.

Nicola PittDr Nicola Pitt
Research Assistant

Ms Pitt is a Research Associate at the Hawke Research Institute, University of South Australia. Her doctoral thesis in the field of cultural and digital media studies focused on the politics of parenting values and the role of geopolitial communication, specifically between China and the West.
