Memory: Migration, Reconciliation and the Emotions

The second meeting of the Australian Memory Research Network was held from 4th to 5th September 2015, at the University of Melbourne.

The meeting included a PhD masterclass, a streamed symposium on memory studies with a focus on i) Migration ii) Reconciliation and iii) the Emotions, and a half-day round-table of our network to continue brainstorming of projects and future plans. There was a Keynote Address by Amal Treacher-Kabesh (Nottingham University).

The migration stream was held under the auspices of the Hawke EU Centre and support for the meeting was provided by the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies at the University of Melbourne. The University of South Australia's Professor Susannah Radstone introduced discussion on researching cultural texts including film and literature as part of the PhD masterclass.
