Improving train flows with connected driver advice systems

BHI Research Projects TrainsEnergy

Back to key project list.

Our Energymiser driver advice system is deployed in thousands of train cabs around the world—from freight trains to 320 km/h passenger trains—where it is helping train drivers stay on time and minimise energy use. In the UK, driver advice systems have been recognised as a key technology that will enable real-time rescheduling of trains to smooth traffic flows on congested railways. We are developing methods for ensuring the efficient movement of trains along a corridor, and developing systems that will coordinate the flow of trains through busy junctions.
