Supporting the Centre

The Australian Centre for Child Protection makes a very important contribution to our society, focusing as it does on nurturing and protecting the most vulnerable and precious among us: our children. Securing the long-term sustainability of the Centre is of great importance to the University, and key to this is the establishment of an Endowed Chair in Child Protection, the only one of its kind in Australia.

Under the leadership of Mr Theo Maras AM, a fundraising board has been established to seek support for the Chair. A fundraising goal of $5 million has been set and the annual interest earned on this capital base will fund the position of Director and the core administrative support of the Centre in perpetuity.

The Australian Government and UniSA have committed substantial funding to help establish the Chair. Individuals and organisations are also able to contribute, helping ensure the the ongoing viability of the Centre. The University of South Australia has already committed $500,000, and private donations so far total $155,000.
