Professionals Protecting Children, Nurturing and Protecting Children:
A Public Health Approach
The Australian Centre for Child Protection is excited to announce the timely re-launch of the Professionals Protecting Children, Nurturing and Protecting Children: A Public Health Approach manual and accompanying DVD.
The resources have been designed to support nursing and midwifery students and practitioners to develop the values, knowledge and skills necessary to prevent child abuse and neglect and enhance the ability of families to nurture their children.
Based on research and the practice experience of nurses and midwives, the Centre hopes these evidence-based resources will stimulate and inspire those who use them.
The manual and the DVD modules are available online:

Dr Mary Salveron, Research Fellow at the Australian Centre for Child Protection, was part of the team that developed an information booklet for parents that focuses on why children are removed from parents.
The booklet aims to:
Discuss some of the reasons why children are removed from their home or family
Promotes the advantages of parents working with Families SA to protect children's safety and wellbeing
Give parents and extended families involved in Families SA relevant information and links to services that can help them be actively involved in what is happening to their family.
