Community Centres SA is a peak body representing community and neighbourhood centres in South Australia.

Membership is open to organisations providing services adult community education, childcare, community meals, Indigenous activities and programs, Men’s groups and social enterprises.

Projects are an ideal way for students to become aware of the important role played by grassroots community hubs throughout the State.

Project 1:   Results-based accountability (RBA) database

RBA is an approach which involves planning, evaluation and improvements for community organisations and those they serve.   Students are sought to develop a database of best practice and collect stories of community success to assist others to make changes and improve their services.

This project will culminate in a written report about best practice.

Project 2:  Sharing RBA

Students are sought to investigate the best way to share information among Community Centre member organisations.

Project 3:  Special Events (Inclusivity conference/exhibition and Neighbourhood House Week)

Event management and/or communications students are sought to promote these two events by developing a planning document; identifying activities; promotional material and running a media campaign around one or both events.

This project would suit students from across the disciplines but particularly psychology, social work, communications, professional writing and/or event management.
