The Bachelor of Aviation provides a wealth of knowledge for aspiring leaders. Our program offers theoretical and hands-on experience to help graduates navigate a career in either aviation management or pilot roles.
Alongside their Bachelor studies, students in the pilot specialisation interested in a career as a pilot may undertake flight training in addition to their degree. Students undertaking the Bachelor of Aviation (Pilot) are also able to undertake concurrent flight training from the first year of the Bachelor degree with a University of South Australia flight training partner. The program is structured specifically to allow those wishing to become a commerical pilot to undertake flight training in addition to their undergraduate degree, leading to a Commercial Pilot Licence endorsed with a Multi-Engine Command Instrument Rating issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) subject to passing the respective examination and flight tests.
Being a professional pilot requires more than being able to fly an aeroplane. Our program provides an in depth knowledge of a variety of key disciplines, such as aerodynamics, aircraft power plants and systems, meteorology, navigation, flight planning, computer controlled flight management systems, flight operation technology and crew resource management. We also arrange visits to the Bureau of Metrology and air traffic control facilities to enable you to gain further insights into the technical aspects of aviation and network with industry professionals.
Our graduates are highly sought after by leading airlines and are capable of undertaking professional roles in flight operations administration, air traffic control and air transport.
