Mobile Allied-Health Clinic

The MAHC - Mobile Allied-Health Clinic provides students from the School of Health Sciences with the opportunity to participate in a range of health related activities in a variety of locations such as schools, shopping centres, age care facilities, homeless shelters, community and sporting events.

Services

Our students can participate in a wide variety of activities while using the Mobile Allied-Health Clinic including:

  • Pre-exercise screening
  • Health and wellness assessments
  • Postural assessments
  • Motor skill assessment of children
  • Demonstration of Wii fit for improving balance and coordination
  • Musculoskeletal screening
  • Assisting with Bone Densitometry and Mammogram assessments
  • Neurovascular assessments
  • Gait assessments
  • Footwear assessments
  • Talent Identification testing
  • Consultations and program/treatment plans
  • Sports trainer services (e.g. local sports events - netball, football, soccer)
  • Health information
  • Hand therapy

Please note: All students in the Division of Health Sciences who, as part of their program, undertake activities where interaction with patients/ the public is required, such as in field or clinical placements/ visits and in University clinics and gyms, must demonstrate that they have an Australian police check which will be current for the duration of that activity. Work Experience Program

The School of Health Sciences offers a work experience program for students who would like to gain additional experiences that will be available throughout the year. Work experience will be performed in our Mobile Allied-Health Clinic in local and semi-rural areas where you will be given guidance and supervision as you gain further practical experience.
